I know what you’re thinking, or at least what you should be: Christmas Shopping??? While it may seem a bit early, my grandmother taught me that it was never to early to start your Christmas shopping (I think she started in January)
Anyhow, here’s a great link to a black friday website that provides promo codes and deals for all your favorite websites and stores (See the image above). Here’s a quick quote from the site:
Black Friday
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when major retailers around the country discount products to help kick off the Christmas shopping season. This Black Friday ads are usually kept secret until you receive the circulars in your Thanksgiving Day newspaper. However at Black-Friday.net, we give you the advantage by showing you all of the Black Friday 2008 ads before anyone else. We also offer direct links to each product so you can purchase the items online on Black Friday without having to stand in line at the store!
With a site like theirs, you’ll be able to get the most for you buck this holiday season.

Cardinal Purple Milk Paint
It seems as though everyone now is starting to hop on the eco bandwagon (I’m not complaining or anything). I wanted to take a moment to chat about a paint/stain company that has been producing environmentally safe products for over 20 years. They have everything from milk paints to a citrus thinner, and wood stains to natural cork adhesives. We have used a few products from this company and have been very pleased.

A few months ago Noelle’s grandmother, Marie, passed away on her ninety second birthday. It was a stressful and slightly chaotic time, so when I saw a chance to share some info on a site that specializes in Flower delivery for funerals and grave sites I knew that I should. The Site, Gravesite Masters, has a wide selection of floral arrangements, both natural and artificial.
Gravesite Masters also has a goal that I can really appreciate, they are a company who’s sole purpose is the care of your loved ones final resting place. Gravesite masters works for both private individuals or cemeteries performing restoration, maintenance, landscaping - including new sod, over-seeding, fertilizing, grass trimming, and watering; headstone cleaning and polishing; stone and monument leveling and repair; as well as other related services.
In other words, Gravesite masters can take care of everything when or if you can’t. I think that such a service is a great help to elders and family that live long distances from the final resting spot of their loved ones. Definitely a service that can take a little weight off your shoulders in your time of need. I wish I knew about them a few months ago.

Well it’s that time of year here in New England. Time to break out the lawnmower, re-arrange the flower beds, and rototill the garden. I have to say that I think the best thing my wife and I decided to do in our yard was plant a garden. Though we knew in season locally grown produce far exceeded winter tomatoes from the supermarket, we had no idea that putting in a little elbow grease of our own would turn out such a fantastic yield…year after year. With pesticides having such a negative effect on our environment, we made a conscious choice to go organic. So over the past 3 years we have purchased organic fertilizer, organic veggies and eaten delicious produce all summer long.

One of the fabric company’s that we feature on the site (under the exclusives category) is really doing something different than the average fabric manufacturer. Aside from the sleek and modern design choices, the fabrics are all upholstery grade. In my opinion this is a major plus. Having upholstery grade fabric that your getting a very durable material with exceptional construction. In addition many of the exclusive fabrics on the site are milled in the USA, and are either being produced using recycled materials and/or non heavy metal dyes. Though the price tag reflects such practices I feel it is worth every penny.

As a thirty year old guy, I rarely think about life insurance, but I think there comes a time when it is quite important. I know, you’re probably telling yourself that this post is quite a downer, but think about how big a downer it would be to leave your love ones holding the bag because you weren’t prepared. Think about it.

The image above depicts a Traditional Japanese Home. I love the minimal design of the traditional Japanese home, but think I would miss the modern amenities that I’m used to if I suddenly had to live in one.
Via Yujin Gakuen:
Traditional Japanese house basically is made of wood and paper. Rooms are raised 20 to 30 cm. above the ground. Traditional Japanese homes are probably known mostly for their Tatami mats (firm woven straw and reed mats) and shoji (sliding paper and wood screen). Inside and outside are strictly separated; One never goes inside with shoes on.

Here’s a cool site related to Las Vegas travel that will hook you up with the deals and steals of Las Vegas. I just found quite a few great hotel rates as well as cheap airfare. So, if you’d like to head west on a bargain, now’s the chance. Check it out and enjoy your trip.
