Is anyone looking out for you?
Today I received a call from my credit card processing bank, and at first I was extremely alarmed by what I heard. The call was about a recent order at Goodnight Moon Futon regarding a suspicious location that came back to the card processing bank upon settlement of the order. The customer location came back as being from Columbia, which set off quite a few red flags. Luckily this was a false alarm though.
As more and more credit accounts are opened , credit card companies are using up more numbers as accounts are assigned. Thus, when my bank processed the funds they saw a number which was formerly only used in Columbian credit accounts.
In the end, after looking into the issue a little deeper, we saw that this was in fact a US based account and a tragedy was averted. And, I am now more confident in the people who are looking out for my interests and process almost all the funds that go through my business.
