I feel pretty lucky
As computers take over more and more of the everyday activities of our daily lives, it just makes sense that people would start using them to meet people. Not that this is anything new, but I just saw an ad for a site that lets users search for free. The site, True.com, also lets you sign up for free as well, expediting your search for the perfect match. Luckily, I don’t have to partake in such things.
Next Tuesday, Noelle and I are celebrating our seventh wedding anniversary. We didn’t meet on a computer or any electronic means. Maybe we were just lucky in how it worked out, we avoided all the social networks and cut out all the nonsense.
But, I do think that we might be an exception in an age where everything is getting faster, people work longer shifts, and meeting someone must be more of a challenge with all the weirdos in the dating scene. Maybe social networks are a good way to check out a perspective date before committing to meet, saving time and getting you on the track to find someone meaningful?
Could be, but I still feel lucky to have avoided that mess.
