Inventory Management
When I ran the warehouse for a “hip” Northampton Massachusetts furniture company who underwent an major expansion a few years ago, I was shocked when no attention was given to the warehouse / inventory side of the business. Now I’ve heard about multiple warehouse worker injuries that have been covered up and rumors of theft from the warehouse. Well, if my former employers didn’t want to train their employees to work safely, at least they could have set up a barcode scanner inventory system so they could at least account for their merchandise. But, in a company where the only thing that matters is the sale, that’s what happens to the grunts in the back of the house.
