After showing that fire safety test in my previous post, I though it was only fitting to write a quick post about home security systems, what with our mattresses now federally regulated to be safer. This morning I started thinking about my good futon mattress, I got a fairly restful sleep and was enjoying the morning. That was when I decided that a quality futon was on the same level as other creature comforts such as fine wines, cigars, fine dining and leisure activities. They might not all be necessary, but sure do make a big difference in quality of life!

I just read up on rain barrels used to harvest rain water for outdoor applications and I must say that I really like the idea. Using non treated rain water on my garden would give my plants a more natural watering and reduce the strain placed on my local utility company. While I know one person switching to rain water for your gardening won’t make a huge difference, image if everyone in your town made the change? That’s a lot of water!
