Take a little presure off the local resources
I just read up on rain barrels used to harvest rain water for outdoor applications and I must say that I really like the idea. Using non treated rain water on my garden would give my plants a more natural watering and reduce the strain placed on my local utility company. While I know one person switching to rain water for your gardening won’t make a huge difference, image if everyone in your town made the change? That’s a lot of water!
