When I was younger, my Dad used to take my sister and I to New Jersey almost yearly for a family beach vacation. It was a great time, we went down to the beach every day, ate good food, and walked out at the boardwalk at night. The first year we stayed in Atlantic City, which was a bit shady. The following years we traveled further south to Cape May, and I think we were much happier there.
This summer I put some thought into heading down to Cape May, and during my research looking into New Jersey vacations I found some very interesting info on resorts in Wildwood NJ. One place that looked really family friendly was Morey’s Piers amusement park. Morey’s Piers has amusement rides (roller coasters, the Tea Cups, Bumper Cars, etc), a water park, and hotels. In fact Morey’s Piers is actually three amusement piers and two beachfront waterparks over six beach blocks. That’s huge, you could spend your whole vacation right there.
If you’re looking for a fun family vacation spot, check out Morey’s.

This weekend I purchased a new Nikon Coolpix, 8 megapixel digital camera and so far I’m quite pleased. It has a 2.5 inch LCD screen, so taking pictures is fairly easy. It also removes any vibration when processing any images, so shots are clear and crisp. One issue that Noelle and I are split on is the size of the camera. It’s nice and small, which I like (if I wanted a large electric device I’d carry around a toaster).
Anyhow, here are a couple pictures I took yesterday, one of a flower and one of my dog Jay in mid sneeze.

I think I can say that the futon industry is in the thick of the campus futon craze. Right now, hundreds of thousands of college students are tossing and turning on their uncomfortable mattresses and seating in the dorms. Fortunately for them, futon frames like the KD Lounger and mattresses like the All Cotton Futon are affordable, ship quickly, and quite comfortable.
If you’re fed up with your college bedding stop by the site and see just what we have to offer.

My little sister, Zoe, recently got her license and a car. Unfortunately a month after getting on the road she got in her first accident and the gas line sprung a leak. Luckily for her, my dad is a good mechanic and knows the right auto parts places to get the car back on the road.

I just did a search for Goodnight Moon Futon and I found that some guy running a Google adwords, spam farm, website has stolen three articles written by myself and placed them on his site to generate traffic! On one hand I’m a bit flattered. On the other I’m pretty annoyed since no link is provided to my sites and no credit is given!
So…
I wrote up an email requesting that the articles either be removed or link / credit given in order to remedy the situation. We’ll see how it turns out.

I don’t think that anyone could read that title and say “No”. Well, unless the laptop was broken!
Anyhow, if anyone is interested in entering a contest to win a free laptop computer now the time to enter the Charter Laptop-a-Day Giveaway! Here’s how it works, to be entered you just need to rrder any Charter Communications service online and be automatically entered to win one of 30 HP Compaq Presario C770US Laptops! Each laptop is over a $600 value!
Who’s eligible?
I think this is an important question to ask before signing up for anything where you might be able to be entered into a contest. Especially when you might not be able to be entered in the contest that got you to purchase a new internet plan. So, here’s the eligibility rules from Charter:
This Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the contiguous United States, who live in a Charter Communications serviceable area (excluding NY) and are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. You need not be present to win. Employees (and their immediate families or those living in the same household) of Sponsor (as identified below) and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, parent and related companies, suppliers, printers and advertising, promotional and judging agencies are not eligible to enter or win.
So…
If I was a college student moving to a new area looking for internet service I would definitely check out the Charter deal, and maybe win a free laptop in the process. Charter is giving away thirty laptops starting September 1st. You need internet access anyway and now you might actually get a little back for being a valued customer.

One thing a lot of people take for granted, well most of the people that I know, is web hosting. Your average user browses around the web, shopping, reading, all the while never thinking about the server that hosts their favorite web sites.
For those of you who haven’t left the blog yet (maybe you’re one of the few who care), I have an interesting link to a site which provides web hosting reviews.
What can they tell you about web hosting companies?
Well, let me give you a few stats and an anecdote. The site is called WebHostRating.com, and they have gathered all the facts important to site developers on one site. You can find out the amount of down time a particular host may encounter. Or, maybe you’re more concerned about bandwidth? They’ve got you covered. Could you also be interested in price? Or whether or not a Unix server is available? Still covered.
Now for the anecdote:
This week has been a killer week. I’ve been helping my friend set up his web store, and we’ve been burning the midnight oil to get it done on time. I’ve been involved in quite a bit of the process, from the product database to the payment options. And it all would have been much easier had the server not been down for six hours yesterday. I know, six hours isn’t a whole lot of time, except when you have a dead line.

This year I have seen a surge in the sales of my dorm room oriented futons, both frames and mattresses. One of the more popular frames I’ve sold a ton of so far is the KD Lounger The KD Lounger is a great space saving option that can be bought on a budget and still leave some funds for cocktails on the weekend.
What about futon mattresses?
So far this college season my most popular mattress has been the All Cotton Futon Mattress. At six inches thick the All Cotton provides ample support, while being flexible enough to be used on a trifold futon frame.
Couple that with the optional colors that are available on the All Cotton futon, and the KD Lounger futon frame and you’ve got a great set a a great price.
Just $286 for the set, shipped to your door.
